Why this episode matters

Before birth became a topic Simona wanted to speak about publicly, it was something she had to find her way into privately. She had her first child early in her twenties, and the experience made her deeply aware of how much information, confidence and context can shape a woman's birth choices.

Through books such as Ina May Gaskin's work on midwifery and films like Orgasmic Birth, Simona began to imagine a different kind of birth: vaginal, natural, informed and led by trust in the body as well as respect for safety.

That birth became one of the most powerful experiences of her life. It is why she is such a strong advocate for women having access to balanced information before they are asked to make decisions in labour.

Respecting medicine, protecting choice

This is not an argument against modern medicine. Simona is clear that medical care saves lives, and that birth safety matters more than ideology. The point is that women should not only hear fear. They should also hear what is possible when they are supported, prepared and trusted.

For Simona, the dream is still to have a home birth one day. This episode sits in that honest space between personal conviction and respect for every woman's circumstances: enough information, enough support and enough room to choose.
